I have always wished I could find a decent copy of the TV version of this play. Both MK and Alan Rickman have voices that send shivers down my spine, in the nicest possible way of course. "Basuto Road SE15,...there's a whole history of ideas in that one name" is right near the top of my list of favourite MK lines. Imagine my delight when I was looking for a place to rent in London recently and found that Basuto Road is real. It's not in SE15, but the houses on it look quite similar to those I can barely make out on You Tube. I expect they're significantly more gentrified than they would have been in 1960's, when the play was set, or the late '80's when it was filmed, but here's a link to the real thing
But, what does the brain matter....compared to the heart?
