I had always wondered about the source of this interview, and whilst toodling around on IMDb discovered the likely origin, a Swedish morning talkshow called Nyhetsmorgon (original title from 1992-94 was Gomorron):

Michael Kitchen is listed as appearing on March 5, 1998.
Here is the episode info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1042752/?ref_=ttep_ep13
Reporter is Hans Wiklund.
Unlikely there was ever an in-studio interview, only the on location one. However, it does seem that the episode may have been longer, interviewing the other cast members and discussing the plot and real events that inspired the film.
Mystery solved?
