All right, PBS, where is he?

This summer list makes no mention of the new episodes of a certain detective......When the heck is PBS going to air the episodes? :foyle3:

If they are not showing them during Masterpiece Mystery, I can't imagine where they will slot it in. Infuriating! :rantblue: Good thing they were up on YouTube. I wonder when the DVD will be released.

For some reason, I thought that it would be on PBS in September 2013, but I can't remember where I read that :puzzled:

I just tried a search, and couldn't find anything. Someone correct me if I'm wrong (or confirm I'm right, and post a link to the news).

The U.S. DVD version is set to release November 1, 2013:

(look on the right side of the screen--Foyle's War, set 7)

The U.K./ Region 2 version is set to release this month May 2013. I pre-ordered it and hope to get it sometime between May 20-23. I have a region-free/multi-region DVD player. I don't think I could wait until November. I, too, am glad it it was on YouTube.

I found a few articles when it was first announced that it would be on PBS in 2013. Assumed it would be around September on Masterpiece Mystery. I've sent PBS an email. I can't believe they wouldn't show it, but can't imagine when else they would.

I just got an email from Amazon saying they still don't have a release date for the DVD. I also have a region free player, but since my whole set is the American version, I may just wait. If I hadn't seen it, I would certainly get the UK DVD.

This article seems to confirm it, but doesn't say when: :foyle4:

If memory serves me correctly, Foyle's War has generally kicked off Masterpiece Mystery in past years, sometime during May. The season looks to be starting a little later this year (early June) and will end on a really strong note with our personal favorite. We've waited this long............

Surely Inspector Lewis fans could have waited until September! PBS has been pretty good lately with showing Downton and Midwives right after they air in the UK so why we have to wait until September for Foyle is wrong. Do they really think Lewis is better than Foyle? I like Lewis, but really! :rantblue:

Well, he's finally here, starting this weekend Foyle's War Series 8 begins on PBS. I'm excited, even though I've already seen them.

It's so nice to see him all over our newspapers for a change.

He always satisfies, even though I do like the old FW better, and the old Sam.

I'm afraid that didn't go down well in my house. I've seen it before but parents missed the Hastings setting and plotlines were deemed a bit confusing. Not to mention the dropped storyline of the ex-police officer. They also miss the old Sam and thought she looked haggered here. Hoping that the next two are better received.
