Finally finished the episode. I enjoyed it very much, even with similar facets to earlier episodes. (The subplot with the doctor and his wife harked all the way back to "The German Woman" for me.")

Now this is the "Foyle's War" I know and love. :foylekiss: :samkiss:
Just looked over the chapter on "Horse Racing and Illegal Rambling."

Kinky Continuity Error

Postby jewell » Mon Sep 23, 2013 1:47 pm

Maybe I'm a perve. Well, I am a perve but usually I hide it.

I was too tired last night from my vacay to figure out which scenes PBS snipped but I did notice this continuity error.

When they first show Palenko being waterboarded the strap across his chest is below his nipple, the next two times they show him his nipple is covered. Modesty?

Now aren't you glad you subscribe to a board that offers such insights?

I'm wondering if anyone has any comment to make on what I believe to be a pivotal scene in the Foyle-Sam relationship: about 53 minutes in, when CF asks Sam to get him the file on Lieutenant Colonel Harry Galt, and she replies that she's just seen the dispatch rider from Barton Hall - Sam briefly lays a hand on CF's lapel.

I'm pretty certain this is the first time either character is seen touching the other. Isn't it?
:foyle5: :samkiss:

(I thought it was so significant that it was one of the inspirations for my Fic UXB).

I didn't notice that, but it's a good reason to rewatch the episode!!!!

Except, how could they have a romance now that she's married? Unless Adam dies during childbirth. Wait......

...and jolly brilliant it is too. UXB by Lesley, folks! A 9-part answer to Englishfan's question :bouncy:

In a monumental recording cockup back in the spring, I only managed to get the first hour of The Cage from ITV, but that should be enough to check out the lapel. Thx Lesley.

I very much noticed it and immediately thought...she touched him, she touched him! I think it's just an indication of their new relationship. Not peers, but Sam is no longer subserviant. I think she's more comfortable with him now and just touched him the way you would touch someone you were talking to and were comfortable with. IMO, I don't think AH would go there, and I really believe MK would never let it go there.

      TOO FUNNY!!!!!!

Now I need to read the FanFic! Do you have CF and Sam together AFTER she's married????? :puzzled:

We are desperate for that "romance" plot in FW, aren't we?! :waiting:

As I've said before, I kind of wonder if having CF already in a relationship would be a more comfortable situation for CF/MR to have. A more natural one, and one that doesn't require the early courtship (is it still called that?) passion of a couple just meeting and finding their way in a relationship.

I would say, "read into that what you want," but I can see you all already do!!!!!!!!

Hi all--new here so if I mess this up, please forgive.

I thought it was fascinating that Sam touched Foyle's lapel too...

I was watching (again) the episode where Sam was bombed out of her house. I just adore the way he crouches down to speak to her and I always thought he touched her then--but I think you are right. He shows such concern for her with his eyes though. Sigh...

Yes starlight, I'm smitten. MK is just, well, dreamy. His eyes seem to get bluer the white his hair gets.

The sad thing is I mainlined the entire series in the last month. (Like I said, new to Foyle's War.)
What in the world am I going to do until the next series is issued?

Thanks Starlight for the tip!

How does one "get their wings" here? Does MK himself have to give you a "Yep." Or a "well." Or that cute knee bounce thing he does? (Does it happening in the banner on my computer screen count?)

Watch more MK stuff if you can get your hands on it, like:

-Dandelion Dead
-Out of Africa
-Reckless
-Alibi
-The Guilty
-Mobile
(to name just some)

And, if you're into audiobooks, some of my favorites:
-Caught in the light (Robert Goddard)
-The End of the Affair (Graham Greene)
-Painting the Darkness (Robert Goddard)
-African Queen (C.C. Forester)
-Archangel (Robert Harris)
-Two on a Tower (Robert Hardy)

Welcome! :wavehello:

In order to get to the fan fiction portion of the site, you have to have posted at least five meaningful posts. and then private message Wolesley to ask for access to the fan fiction. Here's a link to the forum guidelines:
