What have we heard about this so far? Is there an air date?

Only the younger cast members represented here, but I did come across this:

http://www.bfi.org.uk/whatson/bfi_south ... te_heat_qa

The youth at the bottom of the photo is Young Jack (Sam Claflin).

I can see it.

(The resemblance, I mean)

What does 2 x 60min mean? I thought there were six episodes.

I think that for this preview, they're showing the first two episodes......

Is it common in the UK to preview TV shows this way?

There is a short article in the current (March 2012) Women and Home magazine about Juliet Stevenson who is in White Heat. Page 46. At the bottom it says that she is starring in White Heat on BBC Two in March.Englishfan

Thanks so much for finding out, Englishfan, can't wait!

Here's hoping that by then we'll have an official confirmation of more FW (or something else) so we won't fall into a deep dark MK hole after WH has aired  We've been pretty spoiled these recent months...

Here is the official BBC site for White Heat, including an interview with Paula Milne and another one with Sam Claflin, in which he talks about the Jack character (but does not mention MK)

Since the older characters never seem to be mentioned in these articles, I have a feeling we are not going to see that much of our boy  Something is better than nothing though

The first I heard about the character of Jack was on the Jeremy Northam website, where it was stated that JN would play his father. As he's a pretty big star and appears in all the first series' episodes, and Jack is a rebellious sort, it sounds like we will see lots of "young Jack." But if we're lucky, maybe each memory is framed by shots of the older Jack, or triggered by something that happens to him.

The world of flashback, where an actor born in 1961 plays the father of an actor born in 1948.

It seems as if they're currently just emphasizing the younger cast members..... :puzzled:

Here is an article on WH introducing the trailer. With the exception of Juliet Stevenson, it only features the younger actors.

For some time now, the TV channels have been changing their programming - types of show, age of characters, presenters, participants, etc. - in order to attract the 20/30+ age group; e.g. a well-respected "older" news presenter was kicked out and replaced by a younger model, as was one of the most experienced judges on Strictly Come Dancing. Remember that when FW was axed we were told that the main reason was that it was considered not to be of great interest to the younger demographic. I have never watched a lot of TV (the pictures, as they say, are better on radio), and I've been watching even less since the advent of the policy of populating shows with young faces while marginalising the over-50s!

Not long to go! WH will start in week 10 (week beginning March 3rd), date and time to be confirmed:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/tv/2012/10/

Apparently the first episode starts in the present, so MK might be in it :D

Do you think it will be on for six weeks, or will they double up the episodes? Six weeks would be torture!
