Foyle's Romantic Interest - Taking Bets

Foyle's Romantic Interest - Taking Bets

Postby starlight » Wed Oct 30, 2013 12:13 pm

Hints have been dropped by AH towards a smidgen of This Type of Thing occurring in Series 9. Would anyone care to nominate the lucky actress?

If I might kick off with... SAMANTHA BOND

At 5ft 6 and 5ft 7 respectively, Miss Bond and Mr Kitchen would be nose-to-nose (roughly on a par with Honeysuckle), but MK could wear lifts

It wouldn't surprise me if they brought back Barbara Hicks (Stella Gonet). Gonet is still active, but not playing a recurring part right now, and the character of Hicks it seems to me could be revealed to have had something to do with intelligence all along, as others have suggested here and in fics.
...And I do hope that you find somebody who deserves you.

Might we see a softer side of Hilda Pierce?
Yes, Stella Gonet would be a good.
Or maybe an entirely new character with someone like Alex Kingston? (River Song in Doctor Who)

I love it to be Francesca Annis? Been in three movies together already (unless there are some I'm missing). Maybe Foyle will make the fourth :rose:

Beginning in 1994/1995, Francesca Annis was in a long relationship with actor Ralph Fiennes, who left and later divorced his wife, Alex Kingston, to be with Annis. On 7 February 2006, Fiennes and Annis announced their separation after 11 years together.

Finnes met Alex Kingston at RADA, they dated for 10 years, then married in 1993. Ralph strayed within a year.

Alex would get my vote for CF - I don't want him sullied by an adulteress

Ok maybe not Francesca. Well based on Easter 1941, definitely Stella Gonet

Putting a word in for Amanda Root

Oh I know, I know. Foyle blew her off as Elizabeth Lewes. But she is SO sweet. And who's to say she can't make a reappearance as a different character. Corin Redgrave did it. (actually, no he didn't - the Beck character was Alan Howard, but they looked similar :D )

Speaking of Amandas... How 'bout Amanda Redman. 5'6" and only 9 years MK's junior - and out of work, to boot!

We've been enjoying her (and the rest of the cast, Alun Armstrong, James Bolam and Dennis Waterman) in New Tricks. We discovered New Tricks on DVD at our local library and really like it. Good mysteries with just the right amount of humor.

I do like Amanda Redman (and New Tricks) a great deal, but I'm not sure she's 1940's enough - she always comes across (in a good way) as a feisty 'noughties' woman to me. Having said that, they can do wonders with hair and make-up

I'd love to see MK reunited professionally with Cherie Lunghi, Miss Testvalley from The Buccaneers. She could do a nice 1940s love interest, with a softened victory roll!
