Thanks for posting that article (or sentence!)
I'm also optimistic about FWs return.

Oh, my! More Foyle!

WE are the BELIEVERS! We knew it was possible!

From the article that our wonderful Bee has uncovered:

It looks very likely that I will have to write more Foyle’s War. After 12 years and having written 22 two-hour episodes, I had thought it might be time to stop, but the new series had such a warm reception that it seems churlish to give up — and this from an audience which is becoming more and more affronted by the insane amount of advertising with which ITV now plasters the screen. Anyway, I’m casting around for stories and I’m finding the world of intelligence in 1946 to be endlessly fascinating. We might look at the terrorist atrocity at the King David Hotel. Could Foyle get involved in Nazi war crimes? Dublin stood in for London in the last series. It might have to double as Jerusalem and Nuremberg in the next.

"Could Foyle get involved in Nazi war crimes?????" How could Foyle NOT get involved in Nazi war crimes?!!!!! YES!

Thanks for the latest news, Bee. It's very useful having our very own
super-sleuth to keep us up to date with any developments on the
future of Foyle's War.

Just looked over the chapter on "Horse Racing and Illegal Rambling."

In his earlier tweet, AH said that "of course, MK would have to say yes". Guess he said "yes"!

FW aside, it appears from this article that Anthony Horowitz is about to start doing a new adaptation of Herman Wouk's wonderful The Caine Mutiny, presumably for big or small screen, not stage. If he intends to stick to the original text of the book rather than mess about with it in Hollywood fashion, then I hope that the project is approved and that we will see it in production in due course. (And, no, I don't see Mr K in the role of Queeg, which would be the only one he could, with some necessary darkening of his hair, squeeze into age-wise. Even if there was the vaguest possibility of it, accents aren't his forte and I wouldn't want to hear him trying to do an American one all the way through a film! >> Steps smartly to one side to avoid flying objects ...)

I agree, Lynne. Accents are not MK's forte. I don't know about his British accents, since I don't know what they are suppose to sound like; but his Italian accents, in quite a few of his audio books, are way over the top. There's one, I can't remember the name of, that if it wasn't him, I wouldn't have gotten past the first paragraph. As it is, I've only listened to it once as his accent is very distracting. I definitely wouldn't want to hear him do an American accent throughout a whole movie. His accent is part of his charm

Whew! There, I made a critical comment about MK

AHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Make it stop! :foyle2:

I agree with you both, but not as much for the accent reason as for the age reason and the fact that Queeg is just such a loser.

Trying to think who to cast...?

A conversation on Twitter:

So ITV wants more Foyle's War. Looks like I may have been a touch hasty putting away my pen...

ssamsmum‏@ssamsmum13h
@AnthonyHorowitz Oh please please please, send him back to Hastings. London so dreary.

Anthony Horowitz‏@AnthonyHorowitz11h
@ssamsmum I'm afraid London is where MI6 is based. But he might look into Hastings next time...

ssamsmum‏@ssamsmum11h
@AnthonyHorowitz Thank you so much, what a kind person you are! can't think where Foyle gets it from. lol

That would be lovely! :foylekiss:

And on a side note:

CosyCrazy‏@CosyCrazy12h
@AnthonyHorowitz Loved the recent Foyle's War. Michael Kitchen does such a wonderful job of playing him.

Anthony Horowitz‏@AnthonyHorowitz11h
@CosyCrazy I agree. MK is astonishing
