Back in August AH replied to a tweet I sent him and said that ITV wants to do more FW, he just has to find the time to write it. Perhaps things are escalating

When MK was asked what would happen after the war ended, he said, "Foyle's Peace - and a ratings disaster." I have always pictured an opening episode of time lapse scenes of Foyle in his bathrobe and slippers, puttering around the house, making breakfast, fetching the mail, napping on the sofa, playing solitaire, generally doing nothing. They should shoot some of this as a joke teaser for the new series! But I'd still be psyched to watch it!!!

Seriously, the "Short Update From AH Regarding FW" post has the list of possible subjects being researched, so I suspect we won't get to see much of Foyle in bathrobe and slippers..... He'll be a busy fellow.
