It's been said that the ransomeware presently affecting many computer systems the world over is aimed at only businesses, but it's dangerous to assume that home PCs won't be targetted at some point by the Wannacry worm or others like it. Be prepared ...

And of course Rule One with regard to emails should always be adhered to, i.e. never click on a link or open an attachment in an email unless you are sure that the email is from a trusted source. (Personally, even if the source is trusted, I check with the sender before I do anything regarding the email if a link or an attachment was something I was not expecting.)
