Norwegian King's speech

Hey there neighbour, what's new?

Norwegian King's speech

Postby Lynette » Tue Sep 13, 2016 2:24 am

I'm a regular visitor to another blog, one that light-heartedly tracks the doings (and jewelry and fashion) of the world's royals. Most of it is pretty shallow stuff, but every now and then it touches on more significant issues.

A couple of weeks ago King Harald of Norway gave a speech at a garden party in which he outlined what he considered to be the values that define his country. It's so beautifully written (even in translation) and so applicable to all societies that I decided to share it here:

Does anyone else find it as moving as I do?

I certainly do, Lynette. It actually gave me goosepimples!

Thank you for sharing this. It is refreshing to hear a speech recognizing differences, yet recognizing a united country and people. :rose: :rose: :rose:

Definitely worth sharing, Lynette. No politics on the forum I know, but I can think of more than one politician that should pay attention to this message.
But, what does the brain matter....compared to the heart?
