SNOW????

Hey there neighbour, what's new?

Yup, New York City got quite a lot but hey, it's mid-January! Public transportation up and slowly getting back to normal, lots of snow piled at street crossings but streets themselves are clear. Long walk in park (that's Central Park folks) earlier watching zillions of kids and parents sledding. Evenings likely icy and cold but we've been spared so much thus far. And I feel for those polar bears etc. for whom climate change is a disaster. :awkward:

Two feet here in DC. Got the walks shoveled, but no point trying to shovel out the cars until we see a snowplow ...

No football in my house. I watched the US figure skating championships all weekend -- lovely way to be snowed in!

Denver is cold and threatened by a blizzard...love it.

Except I had to miss my bridge game.

Couldn't find anything but Iowa (God bless them for putting up w/all the hoop-la!) political stuff on TV until I saw FW White Feather on Ovation! It's on each tv of my house so I don't miss a minute of it as I do chores. I can stay warm and happy through the cold...and pending snow.

Hope you each has a warm a day as I plan to have!

Today is Groundhog Day, which means Iowa has seen the politicians and won't be seen again for 4 years.... :waiting:

Hahaha! So true.
My hubby once lived on one of our coastal islands, and every election the incumbent politician would have a barge load of road building equipment brought over, promising to get the roads repaired and new ones built. After the election the barge would take all the machines away again - sorry, no money in the budget for what was promised.

Finally got a decent amount of snow here (well, almost decent--maybe 2 inches). Grass is barely covered. North of us, closer to Lake Michigan, they got even more snow with the lake effect. Schools closed in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. Really cold today.

Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! It's started snowing! It's snowing! I was sure we weren't going to get any here this winter ... but it's snowing!

Aaagh! I've just looked out of the window and realised that while I was typing this, it blinkin' well stopped! I think I frightened it.

It happened just before 1am, Efan, and there was no more. The little that that fell is still there, but it's just a patchy dusting and will soon be gone in the morning sunshine. No more is forecast.

Here you go, Lynne! These guys equip resorts around the world, including the ski mountains in my area. I'm sure they'd know what to do for your front garden!

Wonderful! But I wouldn't stop at the front garden; I'd use it in my front room! :D

We are being teased today with 61F/15C weather--sunny, but windy. Its supposed to dip back down into the 30'sF/-1C at the end of next week. I never thought I'd say this this early, but I'm ready for spring. Its been cold, but hardly no snow. Now we've had a bit of snow and its melting, and now its going to get cold-but no snow. Let's just bag this winter and have spring.

I agree completely!

That being said, I see snow is predicted for Lynne's area a week from Saturday!

Only snow in my part of the world is a carpet of beautiful snowdrops in the garden. Spring is coming
