Novel: Anna and the Swallow Man

I highly recommend this 2016 novel set in 1939 Poland. The story follows 7-year-old Anna, whose father is taken away by the Nazis, and the enigmatic Swallow Man who reluctantly looks after her as they travel through the country avoiding the German and Russian forces (wolves and bears). The author has created a beautifully written story that reads like an allegorical tale.
It’s available as an audiobook from Audible, and the reading by Allan Corduner is wonderful. I listened to it twice over, and will certainly listen again!
