There's one song I can never get out of my head. If I ever start whistling, humming or singing to myself without thinking about it, it's that song every time. I reckon it's the first line that I'm hooked on, because it echoes how I feel whenever I hear the world news ... "Goodbye cruel world, I'm off to join the circus"!

This morning while having my morning cup of coffee, I watched the M*A*S*H episode "Movie Tonight" (in season 5). They watched the old Western "My Darling Clementine." In the last scene, it shows them in the operating room, quietly singing "Oh My Darling Clementine." Now I can't get it out of my head :-?

I didn't like that song either until I saw media coverage of the writer/singer Meghan Trainor. She's quite a talent, getting her first songwriting contract at nineteen. She seems a very nice, down-to-earth girl. Saw her on Jimmy Fallon and she obligingly got out her ukulele and sang a few lines. And her message in the song is very positive!
So when it's stuck in my head, I just bop along with it.

This song is actually growing on me. I listen to a lot of 80's music on Pandora when I walk on the treadmill, and this comes up occasionally. I also recognize it now on the radio.

May I recommend Julian Ovenden's tracks on the Downton Abbey Christmas album?

Breaking into song runs in my family, particularly from my mother.

Mine also. Happily, my older daughter shares the trait. Her daughter, almost sixteen, (can you see the eyes rolling?) hates it when either together or separately we burst into song--and we're pretty decent singers. Sometimes a song plagues me for weeks and then vanishes.

And ooh that Man I wanna kiss
My only sin is I can't win

There ya go, Nikki! Love Caro Emerald since Jilly made that out-of-this-world video!

For two days now, I've had two current pop hits intertwining on the brain: Elle King's "X's and O's," and a song with a similar melody (in spots), Pitbull's "Give Me Everything."
...And I do hope that you find somebody who deserves you.

Adding to the list "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson with Bruno Mars.

A few weeks ago, Nerd Fest UK matched it with dance scenes from classic Hollywood movies. If you haven't seen this, it's a treat. Don't believe me? Well, you know the rest if you've heard the song.....

"It's that time of year when the world falls in love
Every song you hear seems to say "Merry Christmas
"May your New Year dreams come true"
And this song of mine in three-quarter time
Wishes you and yours the same thing, too
...

('The Christmas Waltz." In this case, sung by Harry Connick, Jr.).

And its after Christmas :eyeroll: (but I like to listen to Christmas music all year round. I love Pandora for that).

Help!!

"Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys has been stuck in my head for over a week!

NOT a huge fan of the Beastie Boys, and "Sabotage" is not my favorite of an unfavorite group.

I've gotta do something, it's driving me crazy.

Help!
