Will Keen interview in Spanish

Will Keen interview in Spanish

Postby Wolesley » Tue Dec 23, 2014 7:25 am

Will Keen, who played solicitor Alan Deakin in The Hide, has a series coming out in 2015 which seems to be a Spanish production, titled The Refugees. His character, Samuel, seems to be a lead role. And his daughter (?) Dafne has a role, too. She appears with him in this clip.
Can anyone translate the gist of this interview from last July?

He says the gig is ideal for them, because they live in Madrid - have done for the last 4 years. Dafne's mother, his wife, is the Spanish actress Maria Fernandez Ache. Will finds work in both countries, but their base is in Madrid because that's where Dafne's school is.

Working on the rest. Any Spanish native speakers out there? My GCSE Spanish is struggling.

[Edit] Ooh... hang on... there are subtitles :D
[Second Edit] But they're BADLY wrong :-x
[Third Edit - I got some help]
They got their parts separately (independently of each other) and he's doing it because it's a fascinating drama told in a humane and realistic way with a great team. Each of the characters (without giving anything away) has an interesting and long journey.

Not a peep about Foyle's War
Do I need to remind you...how much you can trust me?

Thank-you, Sue!
So, will the series be in Spanish only? I wonder if it will be shown in the UK. His daughter is lovely!
I noticed Will's IMDB page has not been updated to show the new FW episode.

Just watched Sir Patrick Stewart interviewed on Stephen Colbert to promote his new film Logan (in the Marvel X-Men superhero universe), and he describes the child actress Dafne Keen (born 2005) as the most extraordinary young woman he's ever worked with. Wonderful high praise!

A chip off the old block. Her papa stood out in FW.

He really does have a wonderful understated quality. Wish Deakin had become a recurring colleague of Foyle's.

Spotted him in The Crown on Netflix too. I'm not sure what the correct term is for an actor who is always working but never the lead - presumably not a workhorse :eyeroll: - but, like MK before Foyle's War, that's Will Keen.

How about busy character actor? Suspect many actors would happily settle for this as being frequently employed pays the bills. Glory of a leading role is great but happens only to a few :foyle1:

I believe the preferred term in the biz is either a jobbing actor or simply a working actor.
