JO in Death In Paradise

JO in Death In Paradise

I enjoy Death in Paradise. They aren't exactly riveting mysteries, but they're fun and lighthearted whodunits that are well-suited to evenings when we don't want to think too much. Guest star is murdered in a non-bloody way and the cops solve it within 60 minutes. Predictable and formulaic, sure, but you can't beat the scenery.

Season 5, which aired in the UK last winter, has been airing this fall on PBS, but a lot of stations don't bother to purchase it (it's definitely a low-profile show compared to blockbusters like Sherlock or Downton). So, being old-school, I put the discs on Netflix and they arrived today.

And who do we see in the first few minutes of the first episode but Julian Ovenden, fetchingly tricked out in shorts and a colorful shirt on a fancy speedboat!

Husband and I settled in happily to enjoy Older Andrew Foyle for an hour, but no luck. Turns out he was the murder victim. His screen time lasted about three minutes.

 What a pity, Lynette, more JO would have been a real Christmas treat.
But, what does the brain matter....compared to the heart?
