The Word is Murder - AH writes himself into his novel

The Word is Murder - AH writes himself into his novel

Oh dear. A loud miaow to this review of AH's latest oeuvre :awkward:, in which the critic seems to have the author pegged as a self-publicist. No kidding :sherlock:!

https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/bo ... 13686.html

To set the scene: it seems as if the novel features AH as a character, which opens up a little world of interest for us fans of Foyle's War :geek:
... it is the gossipy details of his life as a successful screenwriter (of Foyle’s War and Injustice) that grip. His meetings with Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, and his views on “that curious love triangle: actor, writer, script”, prove far more intriguing than the plot, which has all the emotional depth of Cluedo. Sorry, luvvie, once more with feeling…

So, snarks aside, The Word is Murder sounds as if it's worth a look.

Crikey, yes, if he even hints at working with a certain Actor I'll be reading this book!  :foyle1:

A strange conceit to make himself a character, but let's hear him out...

My goodness, he does seem to have been put under the microscope rather often lately. I agree with the article's title!
Also, I don't think I knew that his family home was called White Friars - the name he used for the Devereaux Manor in The Hide. Makes sense!

What if you like a book, but for the wrong reasons? :puzzled:

A interesting review of The Word is Murder by Jillybean's keen bookworm other half (as you might guess, he's seen his share of Foyle  ).

Excellent review, and definitely of interest to Foyle fans!
Makes you wonder if AH had to make an agreement with MK as to what he might say about FW in the novel series. Verrry interesting.
