I used the phrase "catch you up" today, which might be British. But not as in catching up with someone (like going after them as they are walking down the hallway). I used it in the context of filling in a person coming late into a meeting about what was going on before she arrived.

According to this link, I might have used the American version:

At the annual Teacher-Librarians conference today, one of the sessions was presented by a Ms. C. Fowler, so of course I immediately thought of the line from The Funk Hole, "...Not ...'Foyle'?"

Waiting in line at Chipotle practicing my upside down smile.

Not too successfully. :foyle4:

Years after Foyle's sneer of disapproval in The German Woman ("The Mail… huh."), Wikipedia follows suit by banning The Mail for being an unreliable source  :foyle4:

"Jeezzzz....uuusss!"

Felt a bit like Foyle racing through London streets with Sam as I rode yesterday with my father through the construction-heavy streets of Berwyn, IL.

Feeling a bit Foyle-ish: I took a fly-tying clinic at my local library this evening:

Very nice, Samfan! Foyle would be delighted that you share his interest in fly-tying, unlike his son.

"It was a waste of time teaching you any of this, wasn't it?" :foyle5:

Milner: "So what's for tea?"
Jane: "Shepherd's pie."
Milner: "Mm."

(Thought of this scene while making Shepherd's Pie for supper. I had it easier than Jane, though. I used Bob Evans' ready made mashed potatoes and a bag of frozen vegetables).

There's a street in Kalamazoo, MI named Drake. Whenever I see it, I mutter it in the manner of Andrew muttering Drake's name in "Enemy Fire."

There was a clue about Lord Haw Haw on an episode of the quiz program "Jeopardy" this week. None of the contestants got it right, but I did. :foyle5:
Just looked over the chapter on "Horse Racing and Illegal Rambling."

I haven't got the requisite capacity for deceit.

You know you've been watching too much Foyle's War when...

You're watching Darkest Hours and you keep thinking about the FW ep The White Feather.
