Scars, Smashed Fingers and Such

Scars, Smashed Fingers and Such

Postby jewell » Fri Nov 21, 2014 10:23 pm

Trying to keep the "Hello" topic from bounding further afield but badly wishing to make more comments, I continue here.

I really like your theory about the scar in Enchanted April, starlight. And the pic from Lovejoy pretty much seals the deal.

Which brings up what I have always worried about since finding out that our man was a DIYer. There is NO WAY you can do masonry with stones the size used in his stairway without having a few black fingernails and other hand injuries.

Was it possible, ya think, to film around these injuries? Or did MK do all of his
DIY while on hiatus? Inquiring minds want to know.

Any pics of bunged up fingers?

Ha! That is the first thing I thought of when the conversation started to talk about MK maybe getting a scar on his forehead in personal life--all of those rocks!

Pressing on...

Double whammy for you jewell:

Residual forehead scar - Hostage, also 1992

Finger - They Fought in the Fields (what's the betting he didn't get it in a 'field' fight?)

Didn't he have a mole there early on? Maybe had just had it removed.

And I'm not even sure what to think, even though I started this topic.

Good cap from TFITF, I knew he'd have to have buggered fingers sometimes.

I remember seeing the scar on his neck in COAT, but hadn't done the indepth investigation to see it was still weeping. Wow. He was young and single then, could it have been caused by a vigorous wrestling match with JoLum or some other vixen?

Thanks for the screencaps, I'll have to check out TFITF, hard work since it's just about my favorite episode ever.

Thanks.

And there's this, too. This is from "Fifty Ships" when he's in the newspaper office asking about Colin Morton. I thought about the DIY angle too. Just imagining him hammering his finger or cutting it on some mean old box cutter or something. How can I say this.....I kind of like seeing the LITTLE injuries because it means he does stuff, is active. And makes me want to take care of it!

Well, you know, this thread isn't proud. If you can find the evidence, post it here

Maybe he cut himself shaving before the COAT scene.... :noidea:

And maybe MK (and his alter ego, Mr. Foyle :foyle1: ) got the bane of many people's existence (including mine): A paper cut....
Just looked over the chapter on "Horse Racing and Illegal Rambling."

He seems to have the index fingers bandaged up-both hands. So yeah-maybe he's pointing out all the lines he doesn't need to say in those big scripts.

Well, this shot taken during FW filming in 2006 may be evidence that the scripts are a touch on the heavy side :D ... <image removed>

This cap from TLC shows something like a blister on Our Boy's right hand ... <image removed>

Not by the time MK has finished with 'em though :D

At least AH is suitably un-precious about his scripts, and respectful of an inventive talent. Odds to the type of mention MK gets in the Jack/Michael Whitehall book published last year. But that's a subject for another thread.

So, what do we reckon to the watch then? Rolex or Ratners? Longines or LIDL?

Yep, possible subject for another thread, but ... when little perishers behave on a film set in the way that the then four-year-old Jack Whitehall did, it's none the wonder that it irritates and frustrates older actors. (Really funny, though. )
